Smoking Ban In Queen Street Mall Brisbane To Prevent Hearing Loss From Children

Cr Quirk announced that smoking would be banned in Queen Street Mall, Brisbane from 1st of September onward. This ban will apply to Queen Street, between George and Edward streets, and Albert Street, between Elizabeth and Adelaide.

Cr Quirk said he knew some smokers would opposed the ban, however based on the surveys they took, 82% of the people supported the ban, as this places were often filled with teenagers and it would be harmful for them to inhale second hand smoke, or even smoke there.
