A ‘Tobacco Amnesty’, together with TV doctor Hilary Jones had noticed that hundreds of smokers ditch their old cigarettes to change for a healthier choice – Electronic Cigarettes.
The initiative took place at Liverpool Street Station in London, UK on the No Tobacco Day, which gave hundreds of commuters a chance to try smoking electronic cigarettes, an alternative of smoking without tobacco or tar. All they have to do is to throw away their old cigarettes.
Smoking electronic Cigarette replicate the experience of smoking with a cigarette like electronic device that burn nicotine solution into vapor when inhaled, just like smoking a cigarette.
Electronic cigarette director Adrian Everett said: "People were happy to be able to try smoking electronic cigarette, and by doing so, they realized it was a healthier choice when it came to smoking. Advantages of smoking electronic cigarette included saving money, healthier and unrestricted for use in public places."
Studies have shown that people do not want to stop smoking. They just want to find an alternative which is healthier, just like DVD overtaken videotapes when digital world takes over. Many researchers believed electronic cigarettes will soon take over traditional cigarettes as a new way to smoke.
Hilary Jones encouraged smokers to take part, saying: "As a doctor, I've seen detrimental health effects of smoking tobacco. I've lost too many patients through lung cancer and heart disease that is related to smoking. I've seen disabilities caused by amputations as a results of circulatory problems, again caused by smoking."
Electronic cigarettes are nicotine replacement products which can help smokers to quit smoking tobacco, while continue to smoke. The addictive power of smoking makes it hard for smokers to quit, and the hand to mouth habit and inhalation of nicotine makes smoking electronic cigarette a perfect, healthier choice.
